Coleran Reel 2008.06
This is just a cool little video. A “demo reel” or “screen reel” is used by artists to show-off their work in order to get more work. Mark Coleran makes the cool graphics displays used in movies. His goal is to make a display that looks ‘high tech’. It’s something that you never really think about – but someone spent a lot of time making the animations that appear on computer screens in movies. I like the video because have a lot of appreciation for intuitive, functional, sexy user-interfaces.

Shadow Physics Game Video
Here’s an interesting little game from the Indie Game Developers Conference. Admittedly, he got some of his ideas from Crayon Physics (download the demo here). I’m not sure that I like some of his more complicated ideas at the end, but it’s an interesting game idea.

PixelJunk 1-4
PixelJunk 1-4 looks like an interesting little shooter. Apparently, they’re also looking for a name.
3D Immersion Technology
Interesting technology. Don’t think it will be widely available at a price tag of $600,000.
Video: Philips Carousel
Cool little video. I think it’s supposed to be played in a loop.
MyHawk
I stumbled on this news story the other day about MyHawk.com. I don’t play Warhawk, but I liked some of the stuff they were doing with the website. Maybe I’ll add some of this to EoS – maybe add it to the user accounts.
The Onion: Video Games and the Apocalypse
And people say video games don’t teach useful skills.
Röyksopp – Happy Up Here
Cool song, plus Space Invaders appear about 60 seconds into the video.
