Claim: Computers are designed to Copy

Response: The fact that computers are designed to copy data is not very relevant. Presumably, people want to take the human-action out of the equation and talk as if inanimate objects are just “doing their thing”. But, this would be like saying that photocopiers are built to copy, therefore it’s not their fault that they photocopied a dollar bill and pass it off as real. Or saying that guns are designed to kill so they (the shooter) shouldn’t be held responsible for shooting someone.

This claim is sort of a reversal of the “Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.” quote.
